The New Yahoo Homepage

Sorry, but the new Yahoo homepage sucks. Plain and simple. It's ugly, not laid out very well, and besides it already been hassling me for a month, by appearing of its own volition at m.yahoo.com when you try to go to Yahoo.

Maybe it's that reason I already hate it. The reason I have my homepage set to Yahoo to begin with is for the news. Not all these trending videos, or jokes, or horoscopes. The new Yahoo homepage looks like it was designed for a 5 year old. Maybe a 2 year or even by a two year old, certainly not me.

My son's neopets blog looks better.

So if they force this crap page on me, I will have to find a new start page. I've stuck with the Yahoo homepage ever since there was a Yahoo. Whoever did this has driven away a lifelong consumer. It's really pretty sad. YAHOO I HOPE YOU ARE LISTENING! Your new design bites! No offense I love you guys, but you WILL lose a ton of traffic. In this economy it's not very smart.

LocketUp - The New Promise Ring?

Is the LocketUp, a great piece of jewelry already starting to take over as the NEW promise ring??? Designed to be worn attached to the zipper and button, there's two style to choose from, plus a "key" that can be purchased separately from www.locket-up.com. One style is a square padlock, and the second is a traditional locket style, in the shape of a heart. Construction consists of sterling silver, but I believe that 10 and 14 karat gold is in the works. This idea seems to be catching on, and in reality it look pretty cool. As a practicality it lets people know that you have something valuable, and you're "locking" it up, hence the catchy name, LocketUp.

It probably won't be very long before someone like Miley Cyrus picks up on this trend, and popularizes it even more. If that happens the creator will surely owe her more than a thanks!

Xbox 360 3 Red Lights? = "Happiness"

I wanted to relate my positive experience with the Xbox repair teams. Seems I had the much-dreaded "3 Red Lights" What's the technical term for that??? Anyway... I sent in in last week, and I got back two days ago! Like seven day turn around time on repairs! Of course, they sent me a different unit, but so what? That accounts for the fast time. But the point of this is... I am very happy to get my Xbox 360 back, and that Microsoft has replaced it for me at absolutely no charge, even though the warranty was out a long time ago.

Kudos to Microsoft, and it's out of this world gaming platform --- XBOX 360

Who's Watching Heroes? I am...

For anybody that hasn't seen "Heroes", I wholeheartedly recommend it. It's engrossing television, and I'm glad NBC has some 'must see Tv' For anyone not watching, I encourage you to try to start from the beginning or else all may be lost. The characters are great, you either love them or hate them, and they are ever-changing. New characters, new plots, new twists and turns. The plot is hard to know where it's going, and that's another reason that I like the show. Television that is easy to figure out is just boring, and Heroes is definitely not boring. I hate that it's never ending though! It's always wait until next week...

FireFox Opening 2 (Two) Windows - Pain in my ***

For the last 3 releases, Mozilla FireFox has had a bug, that when you type in an URL from your windows Address bar, it opens two windows. Needless to say, this is quite a pain, as this means you're closing an extra window practically all day. You would think that the Mozilla guys would fix this stupid bug already! But anyway, the link is a .reg file that corrects this problem immediately. Enjoy...

Ratings, Reviews & Maps - Nashville - TN

The ratings and reviewing system for the music-city.net website is up and running. The only thing that keeps this site from being totally dynamic is the fact I like to create static pages with unchanging URLS for SEO reasons. Sites that have a ton of static pages tend to do better than URL with "?", or "=" in them.

Don't believe me, check it out online. Anyway, after a review and rate are submitted be a user, the editor's will review to make sure that the content is acceptable.

I also have written a pretty comprehensive routine that will reject posts with html, scripting, or spam. Fighting these spam bastards is getting to be a full-time job for a lot of people.

Don't get me wrong, web-bots are great. But spam bots just suck resources.

Rise of The Silver Surfer Fantastic Four - Check

We just got out of the movie at Regal Opry Mills. The movie was HOT!! I went to Regal Opry Mills Imax believing the movie was showing in Imax and we got the tickets and it was regular screen, not even the digital screen. We were told it would not be showing at all in Imax.
It was such an exciting film but the theater did very wrong by not showing this awesome film in IMAX. All the amazing characters from Fantastic 4 returns to do excellent in this exciting film. Even the terrible Dr. Doom plays his nasty tricks again! The effects were amazing even on the crappy screen we watched it on. This movie is a must see it would have been so much better in Imax though!!

(ATTENTION SPOILERS AHEAD)

The Silver Surfer was amazing I love this character. He zooms all around on this cool surfboard and destroys all that he passes over! Human Torch will amaze you with all he gets into in this film. Mr.Fantastic and Invisible Woman will they finally tie the knot? You must see this movie to find out. Don't forget Ben (The Thing) he pulls some "boulders" on Torch during this film. Don't miss one of the best movies of the summer. Please try to see in Imax though to get the full effects of all the action!! Oh yeah the coolest car is in this movie!! Mr.Fantastic builds the bomb of all cars in this film! While they are in a fight scene, flying in the air with Dr. Doom, the car splits into 3 separate cars with The Thing flying one, Invisible Woman flying one and Mr.Fantastic flying the main part. The horrible part is when the cars are smashed to bits.
I thought I would freak when Invisible Woman died in the fight scene with Dr.Doom aka( Silver Doom Surfer).Was Dr.Doom really the Silver Surfer? NO, but he does steal Surfers board and cause mass destruction throughout the movie! Does Invisible Woman die? Yes, but don't dismay Silver Surfer comes to her rescue and brings her back to life!!

Just to let the public know about the new online poetry library designed by me. Author memberships are free. If you like reading and writing pages of poetry, and commenting on other authors poetry, you might have found an invaluable new poetry community online. The system in still under construction, but currently has eight hundred poems.

The design calls for authors being able to remove other's comments about their work, if they deem fit. That function should be available by Monday 18th. When the site will be fully open for business. The poetry Browser interface allows:

Full editing control on poetry.
Save New Poetry.
Community Page where users can view all poetry in the library.
Post comments about the poetry you read there.
Semi-dynamic Content. (All office functions)
For SEO, poem page and poem category pages are static-based pages, and the site will be published at least twice daily. Then comments, or any edited or new poetry will be available for Internet consumption.

Gallatin, TN Movie Theater (NCG)

I recently took my family to this theater, and thought I would share my opinion. We saw Pirates of The Caribbean. The showing began at five o'clock, and began right on time. You buy your tickets, drinks, snacks and popcorn all at the same time, and the drinks and popcorn butter is all self-serve.

Normally this would be great, however, everyone knows that movie theater popcorn is much better when they fill it half way, add butter, fill again and then add more butter. The fact that when the bucket comes filled before you add butter, somewhat diminishes the flavor.

All in all this theater get 8 of ten stars. The seats were the most comfortable I ever sat in, and the auditorium we sat in has a section that had no seat, so we stat there, and for the first time has no problem with leg room, or peoples heads! Yaah...

When we arrived, we got a great parking spot, even though the show was very busy. The staff was friendly, and smiling, the bathrooms are VERY CONVENIENT. You know how most theater's bathrooms are in the lobby? Not here, they are in the hallway where the movies are located. WOW~ So when the kids have to go, I miss only two minutes, not five...

I'm impressed with this place, and will bring my family back for more shows.

XBox 360 Elite (Black) - New Review By Madman

Hello, hello, hello. My XBox 360 recently succumbed to the overheating issue. I seriously considered getting a new PlayStation 3, then decided not to because the fact that the gaming library for the new PS3 still isn't there. This six months after release.

The fact is, I have six or seven games for XBox 360, and the box that died was from the first wave of 360s. Although I got angry because my favorite gaming platform died, I still chose to go back with the XBox, due to the much higher installed base, and the gaming library available.

Several decisions by Sony prompted me to choose XBox, and forget about the new PlayStation for a while. The PS3 doesn't come with high definition cables, and only one controller. those facts coupled with the knowledge that the controller isn't able to have it's batteries replaced made my decision easier. for 499.00 (versus 599.00 for PS3 basic), the New XBox 360 Elite offers:

Built in 120 GB Hard drive.
HDMI Cable included.
Wireless Controller in black.
Free XBox Live membership.

But about playability, The new XBox 360 seem as smooth as silk, faster than ever, and although I had my original XBox 360 hooked up with high-definition component video cables, it seems that the HDMI interface is much better that the component video it used to feature!

I always thought that component video and HDMI were on par with each other as far as performance went, but not so for XBox 360. THE HDMI makes this box's graphics crisper and cleaner than ever, and the sound is terrific, and all from one little cable.

I beat Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest in two days, and although the game was fun, the graphics in this game when played on my 60 Sony Wega made it totally absorbing! I never noticed one hitch in the game, and the XBox 360 Elite played flawlessly.
